The Desert of the Tartars, stunning adaptation of the renowned novel, by script writer Michele Medda and artist Pasquale Frisenda is completely drawn in gray tones, like Frisenda's earlier work that we have published just few years prior, Blood and Ice. Like in that work, Frisenda's beautiful and here more elegant, less dynamic pages really take breath away, and the horrors that may await are much more subtle than in the previous work, such as solemn passage of time in the desert, compared to the frigid freezing temperatures and horrors of war (known and unknown).
